Scoring methodology for comparing the environmental performance of food packaging

open access: yesPackaging Technology and Science, Volume 36, Issue 6, Page 439-463, June 2023., 2023
An environmental scoring tool for food packaging is proposed. The methodology is based on qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the key pillars of packaging life cycle: materials, functionality, post usage and long‐term fate. It provides an answer to users' concerns regarding environmental issues of food packaging and guide them to choose the most

Land cover changes with the development of anaerobic digestion for biogas production in France

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 15, Issue 5, Page 630-641, May 2023., 2023
We characterized and quantified the land cover changes in farms associated with biogas plants in France, by combining two national spatialized databases. We showed that, on average, the changes were limited, with an increase in maize areas compensated by a decrease in wheat and rapeseed areas, but with a certain variability.

Analysing sector coupling technologies for Re‐purposing coal‐fired power plants–Case study for the ENTSO‐E grid

open access: yesIET Energy Systems Integration, Volume 5, Issue 1, Page 95-118, March 2023., 2023
Abstract The high emission intensity of coal‐fired power plants (CFPP) leads to the inevitable next step towards energy transition, the coal phase‐out. One challenge is the subsequent use of still‐functioning assets. Re‐purposing these assets avoids value loss and creates new opportunities for coal regions.

Energy cover crops for biogas production increase soil organic carbon stocks: A modeling approach

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 15, Issue 2, Page 224-238, February 2023., 2023
The anaerobic digestion of cover crops for biogas production does not compete directly with food production and is promoted in various countries. Some questions arose regarding the effects of energy cover crops on soil organic carbon (SOC) stocks.

Molten Salt Storage for Power Generation

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, Volume 93, Issue 4, Page 534-546, April 2021., 2021
An overview of molten salt energy storage in commercial concentrating solar power plants as well as new fields for its application is given. With regard to the latter, energy‐intensive industrial processes, conventional power plants, and bulk electrical storage sytems are discussed. Abstract Storage of electrical energy is a key technology for a future

Enrichment and description of novel bacteria performing syntrophic propionate oxidation at high ammonia level

open access: yesEnvironmental Microbiology, Volume 23, Issue 3, Page 1620-1637, March 2021., 2021
Summary Inefficient syntrophic propionate degradation causes severe operating disturbances and reduces biogas productivity in many high‐ammonia anaerobic digesters, but propionate‐degrading microorganisms in these systems remain unknown. Here, we identified candidate ammonia‐tolerant syntrophic propionate‐oxidising bacteria using propionate enrichment ...

Fumiers de bovins, une ressource à fort potentiel pour la filière de méthanisation en France ? [PDF]

open access: yesSciences, Eaux & Territoires, 2016
En France, la méthanisation agricole représente l'un des principaux leviers d’action pour atteindre les objectifs « biogaz » dans la production d’énergies renouvelables.

Focus - État du développement de la méthanisation en France [PDF]

open access: yesSciences, Eaux & Territoires, 2013

open access: yesSciences, Eaux & Territoires, 2013
Tout projet de méthanisation agricole a besoin de déchets très fermentescibles et doit pouvoir valoriser au mieux la chaleur issue de la cogénération pour améliorer sa rentabilité.
