Improved understanding of soil water content at field capacity and estimates from pedotransfer functions

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, Volume 74, Issue 2, Page 516-528, April 2025.
Abstract The soil water content at field capacity, θFC, is a fundamental variable for irrigation and agriculture. This study determines the optimal tension (−33 or −10 kPa) of deriving θFC which best matches the in situ field measurements following the Veihmeyer procedure.

Prediction model of soil water infiltration under moistube irrigation

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, Volume 74, Issue 1, Page 117-127, February 2025.
Abstract As a new type of underground water‐saving irrigation method, moistube irrigation has great potential for promotion and development. However, the multi‐factor interaction influence and water infiltration prediction model of soil water infiltration under moistube irrigation need to be improved.

A simple method for evaluating the relative water uptake rate of drip‐irrigated crops

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, Volume 73, Issue 4, Page 1231-1245, October 2024.
Abstract Drip irrigation is widely acknowledged for its water use efficiency, yet evaluating relative water uptake rates (RWURs, ratios between the water uptake rates and the irrigation rates) remains pivotal for effective system design and management.

The role of institutional diversity in sustainable water use: Performance comparison among water user organizations

open access: yesIrrigation and Drainage, Volume 73, Issue 4, Page 1520-1535, October 2024.
Abstract The aim of this study was to compare the performance of water user organizations (WUOs) in the agricultural sector in terms of their managerial efficiency. A survey was carried out across the study area to evaluate 67 WUOs, including irrigation cooperatives, municipalities, village legal entities (VLEs) and water user associations (WUAs).

The future of food safety: possible trends for the years 2022‐2032 and their influence on food safety and nutrition

open access: yesFood Risk Assess Europe, Volume 2, Issue 3, July 2024.
Abstract Over the next decade, demographic, societal, technological, economic, environmental, and political factors are expected to significantly influence the agri‐food chain. Demographic shifts, characterised by an aging population and sustained migration, along with evolving consumer demands, will drive a greater emphasis on sustainability.

open access: yesSciences, Eaux & Territoires, 2002

open access: yesSciences, Eaux & Territoires, 1998
