CHARACTERIZATION OF TOMATO (Lycopersicum esculentum Mill.) CROPPING SYSTEM IN THE STATE OF JALISCO, MÉXICO

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2011
Cropping systems of tomatoes in the State of Jalisco, Mexico, were characterized variables useful to explain the technical and economic problems of these systems were prioritized. Five producing regions were identified: Sayula, La Cienega, Sierra de Amula, Costa Sur, and Zapotlan El Grande.

Cu‐Based MOF/TiO2 Composite Nanomaterials for Photocatalytic Hydrogen Generation and the Role of Copper

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.

Tailoring Microstructure in Copper‐Based Conductive Metal–Organic Frameworks for Enhanced Chemiresistive Sensing and Uptake of Sulfur Dioxide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Precursor‐ and solvent‐mediated synthesis yields four Cu3(HHTP)2 morphologies with distinct physicochemical, sorption, and sensing properties toward SO2. Uptake capacities correlate with BET surface area, while sensing performance scales with particle aspect ratio.

MagPiezo: A Magnetogenetic Platform for Remote Activation of Endogenous Piezo1 Channels in Endothelial Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MagPiezo enables wireless activation of endogenous Piezo1 channels without genetic modification using 19 nm magnetic nanoparticles and low‐intensity magnetic fields. It generates torque forces at the piconewton scale to trigger mechanotransduction in endothelial cells, standing as a novel platform to interrogate and manipulate Piezo1 activity in vitro.

A Quantitative Printability Framework for Programmable Assembly of Pre‐Vascular Patterns via Laser‐Induced Forward Transfer

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Laser‐Induced Forward Transfer (LIFT) is presented as a powerful micropatterning tool. An objective printability framework is developed to assess optimal printing parameter combinations. The technology is further explored for its ability to deterministically deposit microdroplets at predefined locations following CAD designs, enabling the patterning of

4D Printing of Multimaterial Flexible Magneto‐Active Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Magneto‐active polymers are 3D‐printed with tunable mechanical and magnetic properties using both superparamagnetic and hard ferromagnetic fillers. Nano‐CT imaging reveals the spatial distribution of particles within the matrix. Programmable magnetization patterns and soft, flexible architectures enable responsive actuation, offering exciting ...

EVALUATION OF NATURAL POPULATIONS AND HABITAT OF BLUE PALM (Yucca rigida) IN MAPIMÃ, DURANGO, MÉXICO

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2010
The improvement, conservation and propagation of Yucca have high perspectives in the North of México; due it is an important ornamental plant, endemic of the Comarca Lagunera. This study was developed in 2007 in natural populations of blue palm (Yucca rigida) in the municipality of Mapimí, Durango, México.
