Competing Pathways in Heme Catalyzed Oxidations With Porphyrin‐Centered Reactivity
Heme‐catalyzed oxidations proceeding through porphyrin‐centered reactivity are quite rare. In attempts to optimize the catalytic umpolung of chloride proceeding via an isoporphyrin, we found a competing pathway. The iron(III) π‐dication readily performs alternative reactivity, leading to a bifurcation in reaction mechanisms at this point.

Abstract The presence of minor minerals is a key factor distinguishing meteorite types, as they provide valuable insights into the formation processes, surface conditions, and evolutionary history of their parent bodies. In Martian nakhlites, one of the most distinctive minor phases is iron‐titanium oxides forming characteristic skeletal textures ...

Temperature‐dependent single‐crystal X‐ray, powder X‐ray and neutron diffraction measurements reveal the thermal expansion behavior of FeWO4 from 2 to 1123 K. Significant differences between natural ferberite and a FeWO4:Fe2WO6 composite highlight the influence of multiphase and microstructural effects on derived thermoelastic parameters. The thermal ...

Abstract Mineral dissolution reorganizes pore space through spatiotemporally variable pathways, but non‐invasive tracking remains difficult. We test whether nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) signatures can diagnose carbonate dissolution by integrating pore‐scale reactive transport simulations with forward modeling of T2 ${T}_{2}$ distributions for face ...

We report a modular spin crossover‐photoluminescence (SCO‐PL) system: heteroleptic, mononuclear Fe(II) coordination compounds bearing equatorial BODIPY fluorophores that exhibit synergistic PL response upon spin state switching. Exchanging apical nitrile co‐ligands tunes electronic and structural properties, giving precise control over the SCO and PL ...

Thermal decomposition of illite
The effect of heat treatment on illite in air at temperatures ranging from 750 to 1150 °C was studied using the Mössbauer effect in 57Fe. The dependence of the Mössbauer parameters and relative percentage of the radiation absorption area was measured as ...
