From pathogen to “living drug factory” innovative strategies and clinical translation of bacteria as programmable intelligent vectors for cancer therapy

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Engineered bacteria serve as smart, living therapeutics that target tumors, deliver drugs, and remodel immunosuppressive microenvironments. This review highlights their potential to potentiate immunotherapy, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, offering a promising paradigm for precise and synergistic cancer treatment. Abstract The dynamic interplay between

Shear behavior of bolt–grout interfaces under constant normal stiffness: Influence of grout strength and thickness

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The effects of grout strength and thickness on the shear behavior of bolt–grout interfaces (BGI) under constant normal stiffness conditions are investigated. Shear strength, failure modes, and acoustic emission characteristics are examined. The findings reveal that grout strength exerts a significantly greater influence on BGI shear strength and ...

Thermal‐induced fracture evolution and acoustic signature of Beishan granite: Insights into tensile strength of barrier system for high‐level radioactive waste disposal

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The tensile strength of granite, a proposed host for nuclear waste, degrades severely above 400°C. We link this to specific microcracking patterns captured by acoustic emission, establishing a scientific basis for assessing repository safety under thermal load.
