Oreocharis oriolus, a new species of Gesneriaceae in a sclerophylla oak community from Yunnan, Southwest China, is described and illustrated. It was currently assessed as ‘Critically Endangered’ (CR) regarding to its small‐sized population and narrow distribution following the IUCN categories and criteria.
