Estimating a Bounded Normal Mean Under the LINEX Loss Function [PDF]
Let X be a random variable from a normal distribution with unknown mean θ and known variance σ2. In many practical situations, θ is known in advance to lie in an interval, say [−m,m], for some m > 0.

The goal of this study is to develop a new technique for estimating the parameters of a multiple linear regression by using M-estimation based on scale estimator to handle the influence of outlier values.

A Smoothed Three-Part Redescending M-Estimator
A smoothed M-estimator is derived from Hampel’s three-part redescending estimator for location and scale. The estimator is shown to be weakly continuous and Fréchet differentiable in the neighbourhood of the normal distribution.

A Novel Influence Function M-Estimator-Based for Active Noise Control
M-estimators are widely used in active noise control (ANC) systems in order to update the adaptive FIR filter taps. ANC systems reduce the noise level by generating anti-noise signals. Up to now, the evaluation of M-estimators capabilities has shown that

ABSTRACT Pediatric gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs) are extremely rare and clinically heterogeneous. Management has largely been extrapolated from adult practice. This European Standard Clinical Practice Guideline (ESCP), developed by the EXPeRT network in collaboration with adult NEN experts, provides (adult) evidence ...

This paper considers the problem of comparing several means under the one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) setup. In ANOVA, outliers and heavy-tailed error distribution can seriously hinder the treatment effect, leading to false positive or false ...

ABSTRACT Background Children with sickle cell disease (SCD) face multiple acute and chronic medical complications that may impact their quality of life as reported by patients themselves. Health‐related social needs (HRSNs), such as food and housing insecurity, are common in people with SCD, but the association between HRSNs and patient‐reported ...

ABSTRACT Cup‐like nuclei are a distinctive morphological feature observed in certain cases of acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). We provide evidence that they characterize DUX4/ERG ALL independently of IKZF1 deletion and reveal marked mitochondrial accumulation in this ALL subset.

Robust-stein estimator for overcoming outliers and multicollinearity
Linear regression models with correlated regressors can negatively impact the performance of ordinary least squares estimators. The Stein and ridge estimators have been proposed as alternative techniques to improve estimation accuracy.
