Nomenclature and typification of sectional names in Carex (Cyperaceae)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 74, Issue 6, Page 1543-1568, December 2025.
Abstract This paper presents an updated survey of all the published names at the section rank in Carex and its formerly accepted satellite genera. We included related names at other ranks when relevant. We address validity, legitimacy, priority, typification, and – if relevant – synonymy.

Holocene Land‐Use and Climate Forcing of Ombrotrophic Peatland Dynamics in Northwest Estonia

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Biogeosciences, Volume 130, Issue 12, December 2025.
Abstract We present a high‐resolution, multi‐proxy record from Mustjärve bog, northwest Estonia, covering the past ∼2,500 years. By integrating paleoecological, historical, and climate data, we evaluate how climate and land use shaped peatland hydrology, vegetation, and carbon dynamics.

Karyotype analysis of diploid oat germplasm introduced from Canada [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The chromosome karyotype of three diploid oat species was studied with squash method. The results showed that the karyotype formula of Avena strigosa was 2 n =2 x = 14 = 10 m + 4 sm(2SAT),with metacentric and submetacentric chromosomes,1 pair of ...

Holocene development of submerged keep‐up patch reefs on Bermuda without acroporids: A model of future reef accretion

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 11, Issue 5, Page 1517-1541, November 2025.
Bermuda patch reefs development was primarily controlled by massive coral framework construction, and variation in environmental energy, turbidity and bioerosion. These factors shaped the size, diversity and preservation of the framework, leading to a suppressed, steady vertical accretion.

Discovery of Genetically Distinct, Sympatric Coral Lineages With Temporal but Not Gametic Reproductive Isolation

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 34, Issue 22, November 2025.
ABSTRACT Coral species abundance and biodiversity estimates are typically based on colony macromorphology. However, such measurements often underestimate the true diversity within coral communities because morphology does not necessarily reflect behavioral or genetic divergence. We previously reported on the unusual spawning behavior of the brain coral

How do centipedes and millipedes respond to grazing intensity in an integrated crop-livestock system with soybean-pasture succession? [PDF]

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Ciência do Solo
