M20, the small subunit of PP1M, binds to microtubules [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Physiology-Cell Physiology, 2003
Myosin light chain phosphatase (PP1M) is composed of three subunits, i.e., M20, MBS, and a catalytic subunit. Whereas MBS is assigned as a myosin binding subunit, the function of M20 is unknown. In the present study, we found that M20 binds to microtubules.

The Evolution of Galaxy Mergers and Morphology at z<1.2 in the Extended Groth Strip [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We present the quantitative rest-frame B morphological evolution and galaxy merger fractions at 0.2 < z < 1.2 as observed by the All-wavelength Extended Groth Strip International Survey (AEGIS).

Update on Menopause Hormone Therapy; Current Indications and Unanswered Questions

open access: yesClinical Endocrinology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To provide clinicians involved in managing menopause with a summary of current evidence surrounding menopause hormone therapy (MHT). Design The authors evaluate and synthesize existing pooled evidence relating to MHT's clinical indications, efficacy, and safety and explore the limitations of existing data. Patients The review focuses

Chiral-symmetry restoration in the linear sigma model at nonzero temperature and baryon density [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We study the chiral phase transition in the linear sigma model with 2 quark flavors and $N_c$ colors. One-loop calculations predict a first-order phase transition at both $\mu=0$ and $\mu\neq 0$.

Multiplexed Transcriptomics for Screening Drug Combinations and Defining the Mechanism of Action of HCC Therapeutics at Single‐Cell Resolution

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
We designed a framework for screening clinical drug combinations with anti‐hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) activity, comprising four parts: primary screening, single‐cell screening, functional validation, and mechanism research. High‐throughput single‐cell screening identifies HY (HHT and YM155) as a potent anti‐HCC drug combination, validated by in ...

The Structures of Distant Galaxies V: The Evolution of Galaxy Structure in Stellar Mass at z < 1

open access: yes, 2012
Galaxy structure and morphology is nearly always studied using the light originating from stars, however ideally one is interested in measuring structure using the stellar mass distribution.

Physiological and behavioural effects of continuous remifentanil‐xylazine administration in donkeys

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Remifentanil and xylazine are used as continuous infusions to facilitate standing surgery in horses. Their use for this purpose has not been reported in donkeys. Objectives To evaluate the behavioural, sedative, and cardiorespiratory effects of continuous intravenous infusion of remifentanil and xylazine in donkeys. Study Design Non‐

Breakdown of Semiclassical Methods in de Sitter Space

open access: yes, 2010
Massless interacting scalar fields in de Sitter space have long been known to experience large fluctuations over length scales larger than Hubble distances.

Quantified HI Morphology I: Multi-Wavelengths Analysis of the THINGS Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Galaxy evolution is driven to a large extent by interactions and mergers with other galaxies and the gas in galaxies is extremely sensitive to the interactions. One method to measure such interactions uses the quantified morphology of galaxy images. Well-
