Mediation of Polygenic Asthma Risk Through Gene Expression
We apply published PRSs in African‐ancestry individuals and quantify the extent to which the PRS‐asthma relationship is mediated by clinical biomarkers and gene‐expression signatures of asthma. We found the best PRS to be the one derived using the largest sample size and including African‐ancestry individuals.

Charged Lepton Flavor Violation in a class of Radiative Neutrino Mass Generation Models
We investigate charged lepton flavor violating processes $\mu\rightarrow e \gamma$, $\mu\rightarrow e e \overline{e}$ and $\mu-e$ conversion in nuclei for a class of three-loop radiative neutrino mass generation models with electroweak multiplets of ...

This is not normal! (Re‐) Evaluating the lower n$$ n $$ guidelines for regression analysis
Abstract The rule of thumb that a sample size of n≥30$$ n\ge 30 $$ is sufficient for valid regression analysis is often cited but rarely scrutinized. This paper evaluates the minimum number of observations required by examining how distributional characteristics like skewness and kurtosis affect the convergence of estimated t‐statistics to the t ...

Dark energy, cosmological constant and neutrino mixing
The today estimated value of dark energy can be achieved by the vacuum condensate induced by neutrino mixing phenomenon. Such a tiny value is recovered for a cut-off of the order of Planck scale and it is linked to the sub eV neutrino mass scale ...

Abstract figure legend Exercise‐induced increases in forearm venous plasma and serum brain‐derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) are often assumed to be indicative of release from the brain. Sixteen healthy and physically fit adults (20–40 years old) were recruited to investigate whether exercise‐induced changes in forearm venous mature BDNF (mBDNF) and ...

Precise limits from lepton flavour violating processes on the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity
We recalculate the leading one-loop contributions to mu > e gamma and mu -> eee in the Littlest Higgs model with T-parity, recovering previous results for the former.

Diquark Condensate in QCD with Two Colors at Next-to-Leading Order [PDF]
We study QCD with two colors and quarks in the fundamental representation at finite baryon density in the limit of light quark masses. In this limit the free energy of this theory reduces to the free energy of a chiral Lagrangian which is based on the ...

RF‐Shielding of Laser‐Cut Venous Stents: Calculations, Simulations, and Experiments
ABSTRACT Purpose To develop an analytical model of the RF‐shielding of laser‐cut venous stents for different orientations and stent geometries. Methods Laser‐cut venous stents are modeled as a grid composed of circular and rectangular loops. As these loops are orthogonal they shield different components of the transmit RF field.

Euclidean Path Integral and Higher-Derivative Theories
We consider the Euclidean path integral approach to higher-derivative theories proposed by Hawking and Hertog (Phys. Rev. D65 (2002), 103515). The Pais-Uhlenbeck oscillator is studied in some detail.
