Structural basis for the cold adaptation of psychrophilic M37 lipase from Photobacterium lipolyticum

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function and Bioinformatics, 2008
The M37 lipase from Photobacterium lipolyticum shows an extremely low activation energy and strong activity at low temperatures, with optimum activity seen at 298 K and more than 75% of the optimum activity retained down to 278 K.

Signature of a chemical spread in the open cluster M37

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2022
ABSTRACT Recent Gaia photometry of the open cluster M37 has disclosed the existence of an extended main sequence turn-off – like in Magellanic clusters younger than about 2 Gyr – and a main sequence that is broadened in colour beyond what is expected from the photometric errors, at magnitudes well below the region of the extended turn ...

Interfacial activation of M37 lipase: A multi-scale simulation study

open access: yesBiochimica Et Biophysica Acta - Biomembranes, 2017
Lipases are enzymes of biotechnological importance that function at the interface formed between hydrophobic and aqueous environments. Hydrophobic interfaces can induce structural transitions in lipases that result in an increase in enzyme activity, although the detailed mechanism of this process is currently not well understood for many lipases. Here,

THE X-RAY LUMINOSITY FUNCTION OF M37 AND THE EVOLUTION OF CORONAL ACTIVITY IN LOW-MASS STARS

open access: yesAstrophysical Journal, 2016
We use a 440.5 ks Chandra observation of the ≈500-Myr-old open cluster M37 to derive the X-ray luminosity functions of its ≤1.2 M\(\odot\) stars. Combining detections of 162 M37 members with upper limits for 160 non-detections, we find that its G, K, and

Variable Stars in the Open Cluster NGC 2099 (M37) [PDF]

open access: yesPublications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 2007
Time-series CCD photometric observations of the intermediate-age open cluster NGC 2099 were performed to search for variable stars. We also carried out BV photometry to study physical properties of variables in the cluster. Using V-band time-series data, we carefully examined light variations of about 12,000 stars in the range of 10 < V < 22 mag.

Photometric study of an eclipsing binary in the field of M37

Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics, 2014
CCD photometric observations with B and V passbands were performed on the contact binary V3 in the field of open cluster M37. The solutions were obtained for data from both B and V passbands along with R passband given by Hartman et al. using the Wilson-Devinney code.
