Riding the Populist Web: Contextualizing the Five Star Movement (M5S) in Italy [PDF]
This article focuses on three mechanisms to explain the rise of populist movements across Europe. They are politicization of resentment, exploitation of social cleavages, and polarization of resentment and feelings of non-representation. We conceptualize

A microscopic accounting of the entropy of a generic 5D supersymmetric rotating black hole, arising from wrapped M2-branes in Calabi-Yau compactified M-theory, is an outstanding unsolved problem. In this paper we consider an expansion around the zero-entropy, zero-temperature, maximally rotating ground state for which the angular momentum J_L and ...

Candidate Selection, Personalization and Different Logics of Centralization in New Southern European Populism: The Cases of Podemos and the M5S [PDF]
In this article, we focus on the candidate selection processes of Podemos in Spain and the Movimento 5 Stelle (M5S – Five Star Movement) in Italy, processes which are related to intra-party democracy.

Abstract The dynamics of a probe M5-brane, embedded as a hypersurface in eleven-dimensional Minkowski spacetime, is described by a six-dimensional world-volume theory. This theory has a variety of interesting symmetries some of which are obscure in the Lagrangian formulation of the theory.

The conformal anomaly of M5-branes [PDF]
We show that the conformal anomaly for N M5-branes grows like $N^3$. The method we employ relates Coulomb branch interactions in six dimensions to interactions in four dimensions using supersymmetry. This leads to a relation between the six-dimensional conformal anomaly and the conformal anomaly of N=4 Yang-Mills.

The M5 (m5) receptor subtype: Fact or fiction?
By comparison to the other subtypes of muscarinic receptors, very little is known about the binding properties, locations, mechanisms and physiological functions of the M5 (m5)* receptor subtype. Studies of the m5 receptor have been hampered by the lack of m5-selective ligands or antibodies and a source that endogenously expresses predominantly the m5 ...
