Radial velocities of M dwarf stars

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1987
Radial velocities for 72 M dwarfs have been obtained having internal errors of about 0.1 km/s and external errors of about 0.4 km/s. Multiple velocity measurements of ten dMe stars have yielded a set of six which have no stellar companions, providing confirmation that the dMe phenomenon can occur in single stars.

Coronal Structure in M Dwarf Stars

1996
In view of the importance of these objects as observational probes for theories of stellar dynamos and coronal heating, as well as their potentially important role in the galactic environment, we implemented a program of pointed ROSAT PSPC observations of selected M dwarfs in the solar neighborhood.

Photometry of Dwarf K and M Stars

Publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific, 1988
Broad-band UBVRI photometry is presented for 50 dwarf K and M stars, most without previou photometry, from the lists of Vyssotsky.

The Internal Structure of M Dwarf Stars

Publications of the Astronomical Society of Japan, 1960
Abstract Models for M dwarfs which consist of a convective envelope and a radiative core are computed with the effects of electron degeneracy taken into account. The results show that in the middle M dwarf, such as Krüger 60A, O2 Eri C and Krüger 60B, the convective envelope extends inward attaining to more than 40% of the stellar radius

Abundance Survey of M and K Dwarf Stars

Nuclear Physics A, 2005
We report the measurement of chemical abundances in 35 low-mass main sequence (M and K dwarf) stars. We have measured the abundance of 12 elements in Kapteyn's Star, a nearby halo M subdwarf. The abundances indicate an iron abundance of [Fe/H] = −0.98, which is about 0.5 dex smaller than that measured in the only previous published measurement using ...
