Absorption of Broadband Low‐Frequency Sound Beyond the Thermodynamics Limit: An Acoustic Resonator With Magnetic Bearing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a magnetic‐bearing acoustic resonator that overcomes the thermodynamics limit of sound absorption. By introducing tunable negative stiffness, it achieves broadband low‐frequency absorption within a compact cavity, far exceeding the performance achievable by classic mass‐tuned designs.

Engineering a Correlated Narrow‐Gap Semiconductor: Effects of Ga Substitution in EuZn2P2

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The effect of Ga substitution on the electronic, magnetic, and low‐energy responses of the Zintl phase EuZn2P2${\rm EuZn}_2 {\rm P}_2$ is investigated by electrical transport, electron spin resonance (ESR), and terahertz time‐domain spectroscopy (THz‐TDS). Incorporating Ga into EuZn2P2${\rm EuZn}_2 {\rm P}_2$ (EuZn1.8Ga0.2P2${\rm EuZn}_{1.8} {\

A Hybrid Transfer Learning Framework for Brain Tumor Diagnosis

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
A novel hybrid transfer learning approach for brain tumor classification achieves 99.47% accuracy using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) images. By combining image preprocessing, ensemble deep learning, and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques like gradient‐weighted class activation mapping and SHapley Additive exPlanations (SHAP), the ...

Histidine Supplementation Stabilizes Hearing and Vision and Improves Growth in HARS1‐Related Autosomal Recessive Disorder Associated With Usher‐Like Symptoms

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autosomal recessive HARS1‐related disorder (originally described as Usher syndrome type 3B) caused by a homozygous Y454S variant in the histidyl‐tRNA synthetase gene (HARS1) is characterized by progressive sensorineural hearing and vision loss and respiratory deterioration with risk for sudden death following febrile illnesses.

MaaS and GDPR: an overview

open access: yesCoRR, 2017
In MaaS (Mobility as a Service), means of transport are virtualized in mobility resources and provided to users using the Internet. From a legal perspective, this model of ITS (Intelligent Transport System) raises several concerns with regard to data protection.

Magnetic Non-invasive Auricular Acupuncture During Eye-Exam for Retinopathy of Prematurity in Preterm Infants: A Multicentre Randomized Controlled Trial

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics, 2020
Background: Eye exam for Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a painful procedure and pharmacological analgesia might be ineffective. We hypothesized that magnetic auricular acupuncture (MAA) compared to placebo will decrease pain during ROP exam in ...

Clinical and Molecular Characterization of 46 Patients With Beckwith–Wiedemann Spectrum and Uniparental Disomy of 11p15

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part A, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Beckwith–Wiedemann spectrum (BWSp) is an overgrowth disorder characterized by its main clinical features macrosomia, macroglossia, and abdominal wall defects. BWSp is caused by (epi)genetic chromosome 11p15 alterations with approximately 20%–27% of patients exhibiting mosaic paternal uniparental disomy of chromosome 11p15 (pUPD11p15).

Effect of Cyclic Heat Exposure on the Growth Performance and Metabolism of Broilers Fed Palm Kernel Meal

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
The aim of our study is to evaluate the interaction between HS and the incorporation of PKM in broiler chicken diets, as well as its effect on growth performance and metabolism. Based on the results obtained, PKM supplementation failed to mitigate the adverse effects of heat stress in broiler chickens. ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the
