Three themes emerged: unprepared, coming to terms and acceptance with cultural shift. Participants reported limited knowledge of menopause, adopted coping strategies and highlighted a shift towards viewing menopause as a transformative, non‐stigmatised mid‐life phase which should not to be stigmatised as a taboo subject was identified.

Adenine nucleotide translocase 1 (ANT1), a mitochondrial ATP transporter, is decreased in the lung epithelium of aged adults and aged mice correlating to pathogenic airway changes. Loss of ANT1 correlates with increased cellular senescence and changes in COL8A1 in the airway epithelium of the lung.
