猕猴(Macaca mulatta)营群体生活.既使猕猴个体来自不同地区,分别进行单个饲养,相互间不进行接触,但只要一见面,通过行为、姿势和语言交流,它们即能确定各自的等级地位.1985年起,我在千岛湖猴岛观察了猕猴和藏酋猴(Macaca thibetana)的行为,发现猕猴较藏酋猴语言丰富,现将观察结果披露如下:猕猴主要通过眼睛,身体动作和叫声来传递信息.眼睛、身体动作表达的语言称之为“行为姿势语”;叫声称之为“信号语”;这二种用语常常互为联系,混为使用,我姑且称为“混合语”三类.
