Scanning two-grating free electron Mach-Zehnder interferometer

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2021
We demonstrate a two-grating free electron Mach-Zehnder interferometer constructed in a transmission electron microscope. A symmetric binary phase grating and a condenser lens system form two spatially separated, focused probes at the sample which can be

Detection of Legionella Bacteria Using a Silicon‐Based Photonic Microring Resonator Biosensor Enhanced by Dielectrophoresis

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, EarlyView.
Silicon photonic biosensors enable label‐free, highly sensitive detection but struggle with living bacteria due to inefficient cell binding on nanoscale surfaces. We integrate a microring resonator with a dielectrophoretic electrode, actively concentrating Legionella cells near the sensor using alternating electric fields.

Athermal Tantalum Pentoxide Mach-Zehnder Interferometers Based on Structural Compensation Method

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
We demonstrate Mach-Zehnder interferometer-based (MZI) athermal photonic devices using the structural compensation method. Unlike previous structural compensation studies that were applied on the thermal sensitive materials such as silicon, this work is ...

All-optical group velocity manipulation in Mach-Zehnder fiber interferometers incorporating with Brillouin random lasing resonance

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2023
We proposed and experimentally demonstrated a novel scheme of light group velocity control via a Mach-Zehnder fiber interferometer incorporated with Brillouin random lasing resonance in a half-open linear cavity.

Interface Engineering in Piezoelectric‐on‐Insulator Platforms: Coupling of Electrons, Photons, and Phonons for Multifunctional Integration

open access: yesElectron, EarlyView.
The underlying interface physics and engineering strategies across key POI material systems, including LiNbO3/Si, LiNbO3/SiC, LiNbO3/diamond, and AlN/diamond, were reviewed. The key engineering strategies such as atomic‐scale bonding optimization, nanostructuring, ultrathin phonon‐bridge interlayers, and ferroelectric domain wall engineering for ...

Predicting cochlear structural alterations from auditory function in age‐related hearing loss mice based on optical coherence tomography

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract With global population aging, age‐related hearing loss has become a major public health concern. Understanding the relationship between auditory functional decline and cochlear structural degeneration is essential for early detection and precise intervention.

Mach-Zehnder-Fano interferometer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We introduce a concept of the Mach-Zehnder-Fano interferometer by inserting a cavity exhibiting Fano resonance into a conventional interferometer. By employing the scattering-matrix approach, we demonstrate that the transmission is sensitive to a ...

A Bose-condensed, simultaneous dual-species Mach–Zehnder atom interferometer

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2014
This paper presents the first realization of a simultaneous ^87 Rb– ^85 Rb Mach–Zehnder atom interferometer with Bose-condensed atoms. A number of ambitious proposals for precise terrestrial and space based tests of the weak equivalence principle rely on
