Multifluid flow calculations at all mach numbers

Journal of Computational Physics, 1974
Abstract A new fluid dynamics computing technique is described for the solution of time-varying multifluid flows in several space dimensions. An implicit treatment of mass transport, equation of state, and work terms allows for the simultaneous presence of all flow-speed regimes, from far subsonic (incompressible) to far supersonic.

Hypersonic Flow at a Mach Number of 10

Journal of Applied Physics, 1951
Tests designed to produce supersonic streams at ten and sixteen times the local speed of sound are described. In contrast to the usual wind tunnel apparatus, a conical nozzle is used for the expansion section, and the supply pressure is varied throughout a wide range.

Critical Mach numbers in classical magnetohydrodynamics

Journal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, 1987
We use stationary point analysis to compute generalized critical Mach numbers for finite amplitude fast and slow shocks in classical MHD fluids. We pay particular attention to the case where the resistive and thermal conduction dissipation scale lengths are comparable and much larger than the viscous scale lengths.
