WASHING AND DEWATERING INSTALLATION OF FELT FOR YANKEE MACHINE

open access: yesJAPAN TAPPI JOURNAL, 1958
The principle of this unit had been described on previous report. Based on this principle the experimental installation has been constructed and investigated to determine the dewatering effect by compressed air, at the Laboratory of Kyoto University. For this purpose an apparatus was constructed with a wire cylinder and the blow box which combined with

Duplex Stainless Steel Laser‐Surface Textured: Stability in Brine Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled laser‐surface treatment (LST) of duplex DSS2205 steel is performed to increase its stability in brine solution under cyclic electrochemical assays. The superior protection with respect to flat and smooth panels is attributed to the presence of FeCr2O4 as the main protective oxide layer in the LST surface, after corrosion tests. The stability

Increase Power-Efficiency Of Industrial Installations And Technological Machines

open access: yes, 2018
In the article, a comparative analysis of a generalized structure with a modernized structure of technological machines and ways to achieve an energy efficiency of industrial plants and technological machines is considered. It is revealed that the main part of the consumed energy is lost on the elements of the system, and the useful part is not more ...

Advancing Research on Biomaterials and Biological Materials with Scanning Electron Microscopy under Environmental and Low Vacuum Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Herein, environmental scanning electron microscopy (ESEM) is discussed as a powerful extension of conventional SEM for life sciences. By combining high‐resolution imaging with variable pressure and humidity, ESEM allows the analysis of untreated biological materials, supports in situ monitoring of hydration‐driven changes, and advances the functional ...

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Innovative Stormwater Treatment Technologies: Best Management Practices Manual [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Urban stormwater carries a number of pathogens, nutrients, heavy metals, sediment, and other contaminants as surface runoff flows over land. The increase in impervious or paved surfaces associated with development in urban areas reduces the natural ...

Investigation of the creep of thin-walled shells under nonstationary loading [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
There are creep investigations of structure elements under stationary loading in the literature. However, many elements of machines and installations in the creep state are ezploited under conditions of nonstationary loading processes.

Measuring transient temperature of the medium in power engineering machines and installations

open access: yesApplied Thermal Engineering, 2009
Under steady-state conditions when fluid temperature is constant, there is no damping and time lag and temperature measurement can be made with high accuracy. But when fluid temperature is varying rapidly as during start-up, quite appreciable differences occur between the true temperature and the measured temperature because of the time required for ...
