Improvement of the machining accuracy of milling robots

Production Engineering, 2014
This paper presents an approach to improve the machining accuracy of milling robots. The low static stiffness of industrial robots leads to huge deflections of the tool. Hence, robotic milling can only be applied for tasks with low accuracy requirements and minor cutting forces (e.g., deburring or trimming).

Principal Components and the Accuracy of Machine Learning

1992
Induction algorithms could be positioned somewhere between witchcraft and science since extracting rules (the essence of data semantics) from an incomplete set of examples is a devil’s task. On the other hand there always has been some romanticism in the interpretation of eigenvalues.

Reliability Assessment of Machining Accuracy on Support Vector Machine

2008
In order to establish the reliability model of limited samples, a kind of support vector machine (SVM) tools LSSVM.M is used to process reliability assessment data. The choice of parameters is the key factor to affect the forecasting accuracy. To improve the accuracy, a method of advanced parameters choice is proposed, which consists of two steps ...

The Accuracy Improvement of Machine Tools

CIRP Annals, 1990
This study deals with endeavours toward improving accuracy of machine tools through compensation for thermal drift and load-induced deflection. The spatial displacement of the tool and workpiece, caused by the above said factors, is expressed in terms of temperatures of various parts of machine tool for thermal drift and in terns of forces and loading ...

A study on the prediction of machining accuracy

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2008
The machining accuracy prediction has been widely studied in many manufacturing processes to achieve efficient control for production process. In this paper, a dynamic analysis model is proposed to develop the prediction model of machining accuracy. The dynamic analysis model has the advantage of high predictable power of the GM(1,1) model while at the

Machine Accuracies in Automatic Cartography

Cartographic Journal, The, 1967
AbstractThe nature of random errors, machine errors and execution accuracy are explained in relation to the accuracy requirements of automatic plotting and drawing. The importance of discontinuity in linework is stressed, emphasising the distinction between planimetric accuracy and 'aesthetic' accuracy.

Machine Tool Accuracy and Metrology

2015
Accuracy is one of the most critical indicators of a machine tool’s value. The error induced in the manufacturing of a machine tool can account for as much as 75 % of the total part of the error formed under the use of that machine tool. Most of the components rejected due to out of tolerance are not the results of operator’s ignorance or material ...

Enhancing Accuracy with Machine Vision

SAE Technical Paper Series, 1996
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Machine vision systems, having been in use for a number of years on specialized applications, are now being more commonly used in new machines to enhance accuracy and in older systems to achieve today's tolerance requirements without major mechanical refurbishment.

Geometric Accuracy of Machine Tools

2018
Geometric accuracy belongs to one of the main parameters of the machine tool. It serves not only for the purpose of machine delivery to the customer or for demonstration of proper service intervention but also for assessment of improvements compared to the current state. The information on geometric accuracy of the machine is also used as a feedback to
