Machine-extracted eye gaze features

Proceedings of the Symposium on Eye Tracking Research and Applications, 2014
Skilled piano players are able to decipher and play a musical piece they had never seen before (a skill known as sight-reading). For a sample of 23 piano players of various abilities we consider the correlation between machine-extracted gaze path features and the overall human rating.

Incremental Recognition of Machining Features

ASME 1994 International Computers in Engineering Conference and Exhibition, 1994
Abstract Manufacturing analysis programs that operate in a batch mode are inappropriate for a concurrent engineering environment, in which designers interact with an evolving product model and require rapid feedback on the manufacturing implications of design actions. This paper discusses a design for an automatic recognizer of machining

Machine learning nuclear detonation features

2014 IEEE Applied Imagery Pattern Recognition Workshop (AIPR), 2014
Nuclear explosion yield estimation equations based on a 3D model of the explosion volume will have a lower uncertainty than radius based estimation. To accurately collect data for a volume model of atmospheric explosions requires building a 3D representation from 2D images.

Machine understanding of manufacturing features

International Journal of Production Research, 1996
Automated engineering analysis (AEA) of the solid model of a product is an essential task for the implementation of concurrent engineering. AEA has the potential to analyse several design and manufacturing activities in order to reduce the product development time and the associated costs.

Critical feature analysis of a radiotherapy machine

Reliability Engineering & System Safety, 2003
The software implementation of the emergency shutdown feature in a major radiotherapy system was analyzed, using a directed form of code review based on module dependences. Dependences between modules are labelled by particular assumptions; this allows one to trace through the code, and identify those fragments responsible for critical features.

Special Feature: Microprogrammable Virtual Machines

Computer, 1976
The introduction of computers which have user alterable microprograms presents users with both an opportunity and a problem. To take full advantage of the opportunity to tailor the architecture of the computer to the application domain, the problem of microprogram development and testing must be solved. The technique outlined here provides a tool which
