Atmospheric neutrino induced muons in the MACRO detector

open access: yes, 1999
A measurement of the flux of neutrino-induced muons using the MACRO detector is presented. Different event topologies, corresponding to different neutrino parent energies can be detected. The upward throughgoing muon sample is larger event sample.

An Investigation of the Generic Features of Research Articles Published in the Bulletin of Iranian Mathematical Society [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Linguistics, 2015
In light of the understanding that the analysis of the generic features of different academic genres can enhance the ability of non-native members of academic discourse communities to understand, and where appropriate, to produce them, the present study ...

Study of Magnetic Nanocomposites by NMR and Bulk Magnetization Techniques

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2014
Magnetic nanocomposites possess complex and nonuniform magnetic structure. As a result it is necessary to use different physical methods to describe their properties.

A MULTISCALE APPROACH TO THE REPRESENTATION OF 3D IMAGES, WITH APPLICATION TO POLYMER SOLAR CELLS

open access: yesImage Analysis and Stereology, 2011
A multiscale approach to the description of geometrically complex 3D image data is proposed which distinguishes between morphological features on a ‘macro-scale’ and a ‘micro-scale’.

Engineering Local Polar Frustration in Lead‐Free Dielectric Ceramics for Ultrahigh Normalized Energy Storage Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Local polar frustration is engineered to stabilize an ergodic relaxer through nanoscale multiphase coexistence, suppressing long‐range ferroelectric order while preserving high polarization. This strategy delivers ultrahigh low‐field normalized energy density (Wa >0.020 mC cm−2), exceptional thermal stability, and a transferable design principle for ...

Stochastic Volatility in a Macro-Finance Model of the US Term Structure of Interest Rates 1961-2004. [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper generalizes the standard homoscedastic macro-finance model by allowing for stochastic volatility, using the ‘square root’ specification of the mainstreamfinance literature.

Protein‐Nanoarchitectures for Low‐Field Intracellular Electro‐Immunomodulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DHQ‐SDH‐mediated binding of AuNPs drives the formation of interconnected, chain‐like nanoarchitectures with enhanced electrical conductivity. These conductive assemblies undergo macrophage uptake and enable low‐field electrical stimulation, promoting M1‐to‐M2 phenotypic switching with decreased iNOS and increased CD206 expression. Such protein‐mediated

Challenges in macro-finance modeling [PDF]

open access: yes
This article discusses various challenges in the specification and implementation of "macro-finance" models in which macroeconomic variables and term structure variables are modeled together in a no-arbitrage framework.

Engineered Microvascular Model of the Blood–Brain–Tumor Barrier Reveals Endothelial Remodeling in Diffuse Midline Glioma

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We developed a patient‐derived, functional microfluidic model of the diffuse midline glioma (DMG) blood–brain–tumor barrier (BBTB) comprised of endothelial cells, astrocytes, pericytes, and tumor cells. The system forms perfusable microvasculature, reveals the BBTB retains vascular integrity, identifies DMG‐specific transcriptomic changes distinct from

Single‐Chromophore Homojunction Organic Solar Cells: A Path to Simplicity and Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This perspective discusses how the intrinsic optoelectronic properties of organic semiconductors, their molecular packing in the solid‐state, and internal energetic gradients within a device can enable free‐charge carrier generation in homojunction organic solar cells.
