Eastern Pacific Origin and Global Dispersal Dynamics of Palaemonine Shrimps

open access: yesJournal of Biogeography, Volume 53, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim To reconstruct the spatiotemporal dynamics underlying the global distribution of palaemonine shrimps and to test how geographic origin, paleogeographic connectivity and larval developmental strategy shaped macroevolutionary dispersal patterns.

Predatory decapods for biological control of pest snails: Ecological, behavioural and mechanical aspects

open access: yesEcological Solutions and Evidence, Volume 7, Issue 2, April/June 2026.
A food‐choice experiment illustrating that monosex decapods can serve as efficient biological control agents against parasite‐transmitting snails in aquaculture systems. We presented prawns and crayfish to four pest snail species with varying shell characteristics and quantified their predation preferences and traits. We show that the force required to

A Systematic Review of Biofloc Technology and Periphyton in Giant Freshwater Prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) Aquaculture

open access: yesAquaculture, Fish and Fisheries, Volume 6, Issue 2, April 2026.
Biofloc technology and periphyton‐based systems enhance the sustainable production of giant freshwater prawn (Macrobrachium rosenbergii). A PRISMA‐guided review (2005 – 2024) shows that BFT improves survival (75 – 78 %) and feed efficiency, while periphyton supports natural productivity in grow‐out.
