Experimental methods for wind tunnel studies of seed dispersal by wind
Abstract The complexity and variability of natural environments make quantitative studies of seed wind dispersal challenging. Wind tunnel experiments offer a controlled alternative to investigate the mechanisms of seed wind dispersal. This review focuses on wind tunnels and the associated technologies used for studying seed wind dispersal, including ...

Continuities in policy change: The case of squatter housing redevelopment strategies in Türkiye
Abstract The introduction of the neoliberal agenda in the 1980s marked a milestone for urban studies, where the neoliberal framework became widely accepted as both given and explanatory for understanding urban phenomena. This tendency often obscured policy continuities rooted in the historical and social contexts of specific geographies.

ABSTRACT Mongolia's Eastern and Western Gobi Basins preserve a globally significant record of Cretaceous terrestrial vertebrates, yet their biostratigraphic correlations are complicated by a complex geological history. The Eastern Gobi Basin, a northeast‐southwest trending fault‐bounded rift system, includes several minor sub‐basins with distinct ...

Depositional style and tectonostratigraphic evolution of El Bierzo Tertiary sub-basin (Pyrenean orogen, NW Spain) [PDF]
El Bierzo Tertiary sub-basin (Oligocene-Miocene, NW Spain) is a small remnant of the western Duero Basin, a nonmarine broken foreland basin developed in front of the Cantabrian Mountains (Pyrenean orogen).

Formation of repeating bar‐flat bedforms in ephemeral gravel bed channels: 1. Field observations
We investigated the post‐mixing rate of formation of a bar‐flat sequence by flash floods in a small ephemeral gravel‐bed channel. Flats formed under the first flow event, their length increased, and their inclination decreased with each flow event, returning to their natural, pre‐disturbed total length within two rain seasons.

Our findings suggest that bar‐flat patterns can develop from free instability because of sediment size heterogeneity when the grain size distribution's standard deviation is high. Abstract Single‐ and multi‐thread gravel‐bed ephemeral channels in semi‐arid and arid regions have a characteristic repeating, channel‐wide pattern of low angle, fine‐grained

The change in land cover associated with urbanization modifies the microclimate, leading to urban heat islands. As cities grow rapidly, many areas crucial for biodiversity are damaged day by day, and this negatively affects the urban ecosystem services ...
