Macroscopic Spontaneous Polarization and Surface Oxygen Vacancies Collaboratively Boosting CO2 Photoreduction on BiOIO3 Single Crystals

Advances in Materials, 2020
Prompt recombination of photogenerated electrons and holes in bulk and on the surface of photocatalysts harshly impedes the photocatalytic efficiency. However, the simultaneous manipulation of photocharges in the two locations is challenging. Herein, the

Macroscopic MOF Architectures: Effective Strategies for Practical Application in Water Treatment.

Small, 2021
Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have potential applications in removing pollutants such as heavy metals, oils, and toxins from water. However, due to the intrinsic fragility of MOFs and their fine powder form, there are still technical barriers to their ...

MACROSCOPIC ENTANGLEMENT

International Journal of Quantum Information, 2005
We show how collective vibrational modes of two distant mirrors of an optical Fabry–Perot cavity can be entangled by the light bouncing between them. Such an entanglement can be demonstrated even at the macroscopic level of vibrational modes with an effective mass of the order of milligrams.

Macroscopic vasovasostomy

Fertility and Sterility, 1981
Ninety-six males underwent vasovasostomy from 1976-1978. Seventy-six of 83 patients who returned for a semen analysis demonstrated sperm in the ejaculate for a 92% surgical patency rate. Thirty-two of 71 eligible patients initiated a pregnancy for a functional success rate of 45%.

MacroScope

Proceedings of the Twelfth International Conference on Tangible, Embedded, and Embodied Interaction, 2018
Traditionally, architects and designers have used scale models to explore, communicate, and evaluate concepts and ideas in large-scale, spatial projects. These scale models offer the user a bird's eye perspective and often tangible ways of interacting with the model.

Macroscope

Proceedings of the 5th international conference on Emerging networking experiments and technologies, 2009
Enterprise and data center networks consist of a large number of complex networked applications and services that depend upon each other. For this reason, they are difficult to manage and diagnose. In this paper we propose Macroscope, a new approach to extracting the dependencies of networked applications automatically by combining application process ...

Macroscopic DNA Helices

Biomacromolecules, 2007
Presently there is great interest in the construction of nanostructures from DNA fragments. Here we report the preparation of much larger helical textures with different shapes from pure DNA fragments. We have observed them while preparing crystals of the dodecamer d(AAAAAATTTTTT), which only contains adenine and thymine.

Entanglement between distant macroscopic mechanical and spin systems

Nature Physics, 2020
Entanglement is an essential property of multipartite quantum systems, characterized by the inseparability of quantum states of objects regardless of their spatial separation.

Coherent control of macroscopic quantum states in a single-Cooper-pair box

Nature, 1999
A nanometre-scale superconducting electrode connected to a reservoir via a Josephson junction constitutes an artificial two-level electronic system: a single-Cooper-pair box.
