Research of Rock Burst Risk Induced by Mining and Field Case in Anticlinal Control Area

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
Stress concentration caused by tectonic stress and mining disturbance in coal mines induces a unique type of rock burst. No. 3201 working face controlled by an anticline structure in the Shandong mining area is used as the research background. The formation mechanism for anticlines is analyzed.

Computational and Mathematical Model with Phase Change and Metal Addition Applied to GMAW

open access: yesMathematical Problems in Engineering, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
This work presents a 3D computational/mathematical model to solve the heat diffusion equation with phase change, considering metal addition, complex geometry, and thermal properties varying with temperature. The finite volume method was used and the computational code was implemented in C++, using a Borland compiler.

Investigating the Effects of Process Variables on the Residual Stresses of Weld and Laser Cladding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Weld cladding was investigated using a nickel alloy clad on a high strength low alloy carbon steel substrate. The effects of pre-heat temperature, clad material and post-weld heat-treatment are examined, along with the potential for thinner clad layers ...

Modelling of Friction Stir Welding [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This thesis investigates the modelling of friction stir welding (FSW). FSW is a relatively new welding process where a rotating non-consumable tool is used to join two materials through high temperature deformation.

POSSIBILITIES FOR CONTROLLING THE CONNECTION BETWEEN WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS AND RECEIVING WATER BODIES [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
With increasing water supply and canalization the quality of the water playing the role of receiver often deteriorates. Among other problems, the not sufficient removal of plant nutrients by the traditional purification technology causes difficulties ...
