Machine learning‐based prediction model for adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational diabetes mellitus

Machine learning models were developed in Korean women with gestational diabetes to predict adverse pregnancy outcomes including large‐ and small‐for‐gestational‐age, low Apgar score, and preterm delivery. RandomForest and ExtraTree showed highest AUROC 0.726 for LGA and 0.689 for low Apgar score, respectively.

In Asian populations, early gestational diabetes mellitus (diagnosed before 24 weeks) identifies women at higher metabolic risk and is associated with increased insulin use, preterm birth, and operative delivery. These findings support the need for harmonized diagnostic criteria and region‐specific screening strategies.
