Maternal glycaemia and child educational attainment at age 5 in the Born in Bradford cohort

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims There is emerging evidence that maternal hyperglycaemia may be associated with adverse offspring neuro‐behavioural outcomes, which are foundational to educational success. We hypothesised that higher levels of maternal glucose would be associated with poorer educational attainment in early childhood.

How the First 9 Months Shape the Rest of Your Life: The Impact of Gestational Diabetes on the Metabolic Future

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) represents far more than a transient glycaemic disorder: it is a sentinel metabolic event that unveils pre‐existing defects in β‐cell function and insulin action, with profound implications for both maternal and offspring cardiometabolic health across the lifespan.

Machine learning‐based prediction model for adverse pregnancy outcomes in women with gestational diabetes mellitus

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
Machine learning models were developed in Korean women with gestational diabetes to predict adverse pregnancy outcomes including large‐ and small‐for‐gestational‐age, low Apgar score, and preterm delivery. RandomForest and ExtraTree showed highest AUROC 0.726 for LGA and 0.689 for low Apgar score, respectively.

Early diagnosis of gestational diabetes mellitus evidence from Asia countries: A meta‐analysis and systematic review

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
In Asian populations, early gestational diabetes mellitus (diagnosed before 24 weeks) identifies women at higher metabolic risk and is associated with increased insulin use, preterm birth, and operative delivery. These findings support the need for harmonized diagnostic criteria and region‐specific screening strategies.
