Physical activity during pregnancy in women with type 1 or type 2 diabetes: A scoping review

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Aim Physical activity (PA) is recommended during pregnancy for its health benefits. While general PA guidance exists for uncomplicated pregnancies, evidence specific to women with pre‐existing type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes (T1D; T2D) is limited.

Real‐world use of automatic insulin delivery pumps in early pregnancy among women living with type 1 diabetes

open access: yesDiabetic Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Aims To investigate the clinical use, in early pregnancy in women living with type 1 diabetes (T1D), of automated insulin delivery (AID) systems lacking pregnancy‐specific algorithms and to evaluate the maternal and glycaemic outcomes associated with their implementation in routine care. Methods This observational study included women with T1D

Genetics‐Informed Pharmacological Intervention in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus: Current Therapeutic Alignment, Emerging Targets and a Translational Roadmap

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) complicates roughly one in seven pregnancies and predicts later maternal type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Yet its pharmacological management still rests on a handful of agents (insulin, metformin and glibenclamide), none of them selected on the basis of the disease's molecular genetics.

Glycaemic Management and Pregnancy Outcomes in HNF1A‐MODY

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Birthweight of HNF1A‐affected offspring is largely similar to the background population with rarely reported cases of large for gestational age (LGA) and neonatal hypoglycaemia (NH). Conventional clinical management of pre‐gestational diabetes appears to be sufficient in managing HNF1A‐affected women in pregnancy.

Assessing the risk factors and establishing multivariable prediction models for singleton macrosomia

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine
IntroductionFetal macrosomia is related to adverse neonatal and maternal health outcomes. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the risk factors for macrosomia and establish multivariable prediction models to enable early identification, prevention, and ...

Circulating miR‐342‐3p as a biomarker for diagnosing gestational diabetes mellitus and predicting adverse perinatal outcomes: A retrospective cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Investigation, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims This study evaluated the clinical utility of circulating miR‐342‐3p for diagnosing gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and predicting adverse perinatal outcomes (APOs). Methods A retrospective cohort of 261 GDM women (the GDM group) and 261 propensity score‐matched healthy controls (the Normal group) was analyzed.
