Full-Thickness Macular Hole After Lamellar Macular Hole Surgery: a Case Report [PDF]
PURPOSE: To describe a case of full-thickness macular hole (FTMH) after vitrectomy for lamellar hole (LH). METHODS: Case report. RESULTS: The authors report a patient with progressive visual loss secondary to LH who developed FTMH following a ...

FIRST FAILED MACULAR HOLE SURGERY OR REOPENING OF A PREVIOUSLY CLOSED HOLE
Repeated idiopathic full-thickness macular hole surgery after primary failure or reopening of a previously closed hole seems beneficial both in terms of anatomical closure and improvement in best-corrected visual acuity.

Techniques for subretinal injections in animals
Abstract Subretinal injections are not commonly performed during clinical treatment of animals but are frequently used in laboratory animal models to assess therapeutic efficacy and safety of gene and cell therapy products. Veterinary ophthalmologists are often employed to perform the injections in the laboratory animal setting, due to knowledge of ...

An eye on long‐duration spaceflight: Controversies, countermeasures and challenges
Abstract Space flight‐associated neuroocular syndrome (SANS) is a consequence of long‐duration space flight and is detected in two‐thirds of astronauts. In‐flight, this can cause a change in the refraction of the eyes, requiring graded hypermetropic ‘superfocus adjustable’ glasses, optic nerve head oedema and choroidal folds.

Various sodium channel isoforms and their scaffolding proteins are found in four different microdomains in vestibular calyx‐bearing afferents. These microdomains serve different purposes, analogous to the heminode, axon initial segment, and synaptic domains of other types of sensory afferents.

Spontaneous closure of bilateral macular holes
Purpose: To present a case of a right eye spontaneous closure of a full thickness macular hole (FTMH), followed several years later by a left eye spontaneous closure of a FTMH, in an otherwise healthy woman. Observations: We show the temporal changes and

Abstract Purpose Retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) is a major cause of childhood blindness, and selecting the optimal treatment between anti‐vascular endothelial growth factor (anti‐VEGF) and laser therapy is crucial. Understanding their impact on key outcomes, particularly mortality, is essential for informed clinical decision‐making.

The Role of Inverted Internal Limiting Membrane Flap in Macular Hole Closure.
Purpose To investigate the mechanism of macular hole (MH) closure following the inverted internal limiting membrane (ILM) technique. Methods We performed the inverted ILM flap surgical technique as an experimental MH model in monkeys, and investigated ...
