The electromagnetic anomalies recorded by CSES during Yangbi and Madoi earthquakes occurred in late May 2021 in west China

open access: yesNatural Hazards Research, 2022
Abstracts: This work analyzed the electromagnetic field (EM) anomalies recorded by the electric field detector (EFD) and the search coil magnetometer (SCM) onboard the China Seismo-Electromagnetic Satellite (CSES) during the two earthquakes (EQ), which are the Yangbi Ms6.4 EQ on May 21 (China Standard Time, CST) and the Madoi Ms7.4 EQ on May 22 (CST ...

open access: yesDizhen xuebao, 2023

open access: yesDizhen xuebao, 2021

Pre-seismic geomagnetic fusion anomaly extraction based on Spatially Weighted Non-negative Tensor Factorization [PDF]

open access: yesNatural Hazards and Earth System Sciences
Earthquake preparation processes are known to generate geomagnetic anomalies in some cases. Existing methods for extracting pre-seismic geomagnetic anomalies from multi-station observations are limited by the lack of physically meaningful constraints ...

Distribution of Interseismic Coupling Along the Maidan Fault in Tianshan Before the 2024 Mw 7.0 Wushi Earthquake

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 51, Issue 24, 28 December 2024.
Abstract Despite historically low seismic activity on the Maidan Fault (MDF), the sudden Mw 7.0 Wushi earthquake in early 2024 underscores the urgent need to assess the seismic risk on this fault. This study utilizes Global Navigation Satellite System and Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar data to image the spatial distribution of interseismic ...

Determination of stress state based on coupling characteristics of load/unload response ratio and outgoing longwave radiation before large earthquakes

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Load/Unload Response Ratio (LURR) is a seismic prediction method based on the dynamic evolution of the stress-strain relationship of rocks. By adopting Benioff strain as the response indicator, an in-depth analysis was conducted on the LURR anomalies
