Diversity and Distribution of Soil Fungi in Neotropical Mexican Forests
Biotropica, Volume 58, Issue 2, March 2026.Soil fungal diversity across the Mexican Neotropics remains poorly characterized despite its ecological importance. Using the Global Soil Mycobiome dataset from 55 sites, we identified eight distinct fungal community groups structured primarily by vegetation type and climatic gradients.

Freshwater Conservation Priority Areas Are Threatened by Global Mining Activities
Global Change Biology, Volume 32, Issue 3, March 2026.Meeting global mineral demands, including those for decarbonization, risks amplifying threats to freshwater biodiversity. This study presents the first global mapping of conflicts between mining and freshwater conservation, revealing that mining may contaminate up to 1.8 million km of rivers, with over 18% within conservation priority areas.
