Preliminary study on microplastic abundance in mangrove sediment cores at Mae Klong River, upper Gulf of Thailand

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2023
Microplastics have polluted our environment, particularly mangrove ecosystems, the barriers between land and sea that trap sediments and pollutants. The abundance of microplastics has increased in microplastic deposition and is expected to rise in the ...

Application of non-parametric approaches to identify trends in streamflow for the Mae Klong River Basin, Thailand

open access: yesWater Supply, 2023
AbstractMean monthly streamflow records of ten gauging stations in the Mae Klong River Basin, Thailand, were analyzed for trends using non-parametric approaches for the period 2000–2015. The statistical significance of trends was tested on monthly, seasonal, and annual scales using three non-parametric tests; Mann–Kendall (MK), Spearman's rho (SR), and

Fish species, relative abundances and environmental associations in small rivers of the Mae Klong River basin in Thailand

open access: yesAgriculture and Natural Resources, 2016
Fish species were collected by electrofishing from 96 sites, representing 79 species, in lightly exploited rivers in western Thailand. Significant chemical and physical environmental factors associated with species numbers and total fish abundance were identified using multiple linear regression.

Assessment of Efficiency Increase of Reservoir Operation by the Use of Inflow Forecasts: A Case Study of The Mae Klong River Basin in Thailand.

open access: yesJournal of Japan Society of Hydrology and Water Resources, 1995
Inflow forecast is one of the most useful information for efficient reservoir operation. This paper presents the method of assessing the benefit of the use of the inflow forecasts. Once the forecasts are available, the information is used in the following way: First, deterministic dynamic programming (DDP) is employed in the period when the forecasted ...

Innovative polygon trend analysis for the monthly rainfall in the Mae Klong River Basin, Thailand

open access: yesWater Practice & Technology
ABSTRACT Historical fluctuations in hydroclimatic variables can reveal important information about water resource changes in any basin. The innovative polygon trend analysis (IPTA) method was used to analyze 45-year rainfall data from eight monitoring stations in the Mae Klong River Basin, Thailand.
