The quartz-dioritic Hospitais intrusion (SW Iberian Massif) and its mafic microgranular enclaves — Evidence for mineral clustering [PDF]

open access: yesLithos, 2015
Abstract The Hospitais pluton is an elliptical body, with its long axis oriented WNW–ESE, that belongs to the Evora Massif (Iberian Variscan belt). This intrusion has a quartz-dioritic composition, with plagioclase, quartz, amphibole (hornblende, but locally also cummingtonite) and biotite as the main mineral phases.

Petrogenesis of the Morobe Granodiorite and their shoshonitic mafic microgranular enclaves in Maramuni arc, Papua New Guinea

open access: yesOpen Geosciences, 2023
The Miocene tectonics of Papua New Guinea, where subduction, arc-continent collision, and changes in subduction direction are considered to have occurred, is very complex and various tectonic models have been proposed.

Contribution from Mafic Melt to the Zhireken Porphyry Mo-Cu Deposit, Eastern Transbaikalia, Russia: Evidence from Mafic Microgranular Enclaves [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Economic and Environment Geology, 2010
Mafic microgranular enclaves (MME) were formed in felsic ore-bearing porphyries from the Zhireken por-phyry Mo-Cu deposit, eastern Transbaikalia, Russia. Porphyry rocks were emplaced during the Upper Jurassic.

Magma mixing in the Karamaili granite belt of Eastern Junggar: evidence from A2-type granites and their mafic microgranular enclaves [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science
The Karamaili Orogenic Belt forms an essential part of the southernmost margin of the Eastern Junggar Orogenic Belt. The Late Carboniferous granitic belt of the Karamaili belt provides a valuable natural setting for studying the evolution of silicic ...

Mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) trace the origin of post-collisional magmas

open access: yesGeology, 2023
Abstract Mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) are a ubiquitous feature of post-collisional magmatism, receiving much attention among earth scientists over the last decades. While recent advances point to the large-scale involvement of the lithospheric mantle in granite petrogenesis, MMEs have received less attention in such discussion ...

Petrogenesis of mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) in the oligocene-miocene granitoid plutons from northwest Anatolia, Turkey

open access: yesChemie Der Erde, 2021
Abstract Mafic microgranular enclaves (MMEs) in host granitoids can provide important constraints on the deep magmatic processes. The Oligocene-Miocene granitoid plutons of the NW Anatolia contain abundant MMEs. This paper presents new hornblende Ar-Ar ages and whole-rock chemical and Sr-Nd isotope data of the MMEs from these granitic rocks ...

Petrography, geochemistry and Fractal analysis of Mafic Enclaves in the Alvand Plutonic to investigate magma mixing processes [PDF]

open access: yesپترولوژی, 2021
The Alvand plutonic complex is located in Sanandaj- Sirjan Zone in south and west of Hamedan. Petrographic studies indicate that this body is composed of mafic intrusive rocks, porphyry granitoids and leoucocratic granitoids with various enclaves such as

Investigation of the formation processes in the mafic enclaves of Naqadeh plutonic rocks assemblage by zircon U-Pb dating, Sr-Nd isotopic ratios, and amphibole composition [PDF]

open access: yesپترولوژی, 2021
Naqadeh intrusive pluton is composed of two distinct sections of felsic (40 Ma age) and mafic (99 Ma age) rocks. The granitoid rocks of Naqadeh pluton have different types of mafic enclaves, including mafic microgranular enclaves (MME) and quartz ...

Evidence for magma mixing/mingling process in the plutonic intrusive bodies of Qorveh (Kurdistan Province): with emphasis on textural and geochemical characteristics [PDF]

open access: yesپترولوژی, 2023
The Qorveh batholith, in the N-Sanandaj-Sirjan Zone, comprises several gabbroic, dioritic and granitic masses intruded the Jurassic metamorphic assemblage (i.e., schist, amphibolite and marble). In spite of a number of studies which have been carried out

Mesoscopic and Microscopic Magmatic Structures in the Quxu Batholith of the Gangdese Belt, Southern Tibet: Implications for Multiple Hybridization Processes

open access: yesFrontiers in Earth Science, 2021
The Quxu batholith of the Gangdese magmatic belt, southern Tibet, comprises predominantly Early Eocene calc-alkaline granitoids that feature a variety of types of magmatic microgranular enclaves and dikes.
