Not all maggots are created equal; not all maggots are therapeutic
Key Clinical MessageMaggots in a wound (“myiasis”) cannot be considered maggot therapy (therapeutic myiasis) unless, at a minimum, the species is known to be safe and effective, and the maggots have been properly disinfected. Documenting treatment details is critical and allows us to determine the cause of problems, if they arise.

Screening bermudagrass genotypes for improved forage production
Abstract Cynodon is a diverse genus of great economic importance to the southeastern United States. However, the bermudagrass stem maggot (BSM; Atherigona reversura Villeneuve) is threatening bermudagrass (Cynodon spp.) throughout the region. Long‐term solutions require the development and release of BSM‐tolerant bermudagrass genotypes.
