Reassessing the role of magnetite during natural hydrogen generation
Interactions between water and ferrous rocks are known to generate natural H2 in oceanic and continental domains via the oxidation of iron. Such generation has been mainly investigated through the alteration of Fe2+-silicate and some Fe2+-carbonates.

Surface effects in maghemite nanoparticles
A consistent model is presented for the variation of saturation magnetization with particle size in maghemite nanoparticles, based on the existence of a magnetically disordered layer with a constant thickness of 1 nm. For particles smaller than 3 nm, layer thickness increases rapidly, and MS is already zero for 2.5 nm particle size.

Electronic and magnetic structure of epitaxial NiO/Fe$_3$O$_4$(001) heterostructures grown on MgO(001) and Nb-doped SrTiO$_3$(001) [PDF]
We study the underlying chemical, electronic and magnetic properties of a number of magnetite based thin films. The main focus is placed onto NiO/Fe$_3$O$_4$(001) bilayers grown on MgO(001) and Nb-SrTiO$_3$(001) substrates.
