SEXTONIONS AND THE MAGIC SQUARE [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the London Mathematical Society, 2006
Associated to any complex simple Lie algebra is a non-reductive complex Lie algebra which we call the intermediate Lie algebra. We propose that these algebras can be included in both the magic square and the magic triangle to give an additional row and column. The extra row and column in the magic square corresponds to the sextonions.

Bordered Magic Squares With Order Square Magic Sums

open access: yes, 2020
The idea of nested magic squares is well known in the literature, generally known by bordered magic squares. In this work, nested magic squares are studied in such a way that the magic sums are equal to the order of the magic square. The study include integer values. In some cases decimal entries with positive and negative entries are also used.

Magic Square

open access: yesMűszaki Tudományos Közlemények
As a state exam thesis, we are implementing an interactive, electronic, but non-computer-based fourth-order magic square as a logic game. To solve the magic square, we use an improved version of a method originally published in an old book [1], which we present here. The game is produced using 3D printing.

A Novel RGB Image Obfuscation Technique Using Dynamically Generated All Order-4 Magic Squares

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2023
Plethora of image encryption schemes exist in literature based on the construct of magic square for realizing the purpose of image obfuscation. This magic square carries out the scrambling project of the encryption.

Public Key Cipher with Signature Based on Diffie-Hellman and the Magic Square Problem [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2016
In the present paper, wedeveloped a new variant of asymmetric cipher (Public Key) algorithm based on the Discrete Logarithm Problem (DLP) uses Diffie-Hellman key exchange protocol and the mathematical features of magic square.

Magic Square and Arrangement of Consecutive Integers That Avoids k-Term Arithmetic Progressions

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
In 1977, Davis et al. proposed a method to generate an arrangement of [n]={1,2,…,n} that avoids three-term monotone arithmetic progressions. Consequently, this arrangement avoids k-term monotone arithmetic progressions in [n] for k≥3.

Enhancing pseudo-telepathy in the magic square game. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
We study the possibility of reversing an action of a quantum channel. Our principal objective is to find a specific channel that reverses as accurately as possible an action of a given quantum channel. To achieve this goal we use semidefinite programming.

Numerous but rare: an exploration of magic squares. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
How rare are magic squares? So far, the exact number of magic squares of order n is only known for n ≤ 5. For larger squares, we need statistical approaches for estimating the number.

A Kaldorian Perspective on the Turkish Economy (1980–2020)

open access: yesİstanbul İktisat Dergisi, 2021
The most basic economic indicators used in international comparisons are inflation rate, unemployment rate, economic growth rate, and current account balance. In this context, when these variables are taken together within the framework of an index, they

THE MAGIC SQUARE OF REFLECTIONS AND ROTATIONS

open access: yesRocky Mountain Journal of Mathematics, 2023
We show how Coxeter’s work implies a bijection between complex reflection groups of rank two and real reflection groups in 0(3). We also consider this magic square of reflections and rotations in the framework of Clifford algebras: we give an interpretation using (s)pin groups and explore these groups in small dimensions.
