The Central Control of the MAGIC telescopes

open access: yes, 2009
The second MAGIC telescope, a clone of the first 17 m diameter MAGIC telescope, has entered the final commissioning phase and will soon start to take data, preferentially in the so-called stereo-mode. The control system for both telescopes is assigned to a number of autonomous functional units called subsystems.

Microquasar observations with the MAGIC telescope

open access: yes, 2009
Microquasars, X-ray binaries displaying relativistic jets driven by accretion onto a compact object, are some of the most efficient accelerators in the Galaxy. Theoretical models predict Very High Energy (VHE) emission at the base of the jet where particles are accelerated to multi-TeV energies.

Multiwavelength Study of Extreme High-energy Peaked BL Lac Source 1ES 0229+200 Using Ultraviolet, X-Ray, and γ-Ray Observations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present a comprehensive analysis of the broadband spectral energy distribution (SED) of the extreme high-energy peaked BL Lac source, 1ES 0229+200. Our study utilizes near-simultaneous data collected at various epochs between 2017 September and 2021 ...

Technical Performance of the MAGIC Telescopes

open access: yes, 2009
The MAGIC-I telescope is the largest single-dish Imaging Atmospheric Cherenkov telescope in the world. A second telescope, MAGIC-II, will operate in coincidence with MAGIC-I in stereoscopic mode. MAGIC-II is a clone of MAGIC-I, but with a number of significant improvements, namely a highly pixelized camera with a wider trigger area, improved optical ...
