A Passive Low‐Frequency, High‐Sensitivity Diamagnetic Levitation Accelerometer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, Volume 6, Issue 2, Page 344-356, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Despite the great potential of diamagnetic levitation accelerometers in detecting low‐frequency and weak motion, there is still a demand to further enhance their sensitivity for geophysical and microgravity applications. In this study, a straightforward structural modulating approach is presented to enhance the sensitivity of diamagnetic ...

Harmonic Analysis of Superconducting and Suspension Magnetic Fields in Superconducting Maglev Trains

open access: yesChengshi guidao jiaotong yanjiu
[Objective] During the operation of superconducting maglev trains, factors such as inconsistencies in ground coil alignment and large electromagnetic air gaps often generate significant high-order higher harmonics in the magnetic field.

Data Driven State Monitoring of Maglev System With Experimental Analysis

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
The reliability of levitation system plays an important role for the safe operation of maglev train. Monitoring the state of the levitation system helps make early judgement to adopt fault tolerant measurement preventing further damage.

A Maglev, a tunnel, a river. On the delays in the realization of the Tokyo-Nagoya Maglev line

open access: yesTransportation Systems and Technology, 2020
The Chuo Shinkansen is a Japanese maglev line under construction between Tokyo and Osaka. On a central section of the line, construction has come to a standstill in 2020 for reasons of regional policy. This threatens the completion of the entire line. The article describes some of the interests triggering the underlying conflict. Some of the key points

Design of Novel Exponential PDN Controller via Quadratic Interpolation Optimiser for Nonlinear and Unstable Ball and Beam System

open access: yesIET Control Theory &Applications, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This study presents a novel exponential proportional‐derivative controller with filter (exp‐PDN) for stabilising the nonlinear and underactuated ball and beam system. Unlike conventional PID‐based approaches, the proposed controller removes the integral term, resulting in faster transient responses and improved robustness.

Dynamic stability of electrodynamic maglev systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Because dynamic instabilities are not acceptable in any commercial maglev system, it is important to consider dynamic instability in the development of all maglev systems.
