The magnesite and magnesite-chrome (periclase-spinel) parts made at the experimental plant of the Ukrainian Institute of Refractories with Czechoslovak magnesite powder are marked by high indices for density, refractoriness-under-load and heat resistance, and are only slightly different from the studied samples of Austrian converter brick.

Der Magnesit (MgCO3) wird entweder in Schacht- oder in Drehofen gebrannt, und zwar wird die Temperatur meist nicht so hoch gesteigert, das alle Kohlensaure ausgewichen ist. Der Magnesit kommt vor in Euboa (griechische Insel) sowie bei uns in Schlesien, Radentheim, im Zillertal, in Oberdorf und an anderen Orten.
