Polygonal tepee structures of Arabia

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 1, February 2026.
Tepee structures on Sheybarah Island form polygonal microbial cemented crusts in the intertidal. Radiocarbon dating suggests they formed in the Holocene and reflect minor sea‐level changes, highlighting their value as palaeoenvironmental indicators. Satellite surveys identified 126 polygonal features, including coral reefs that may have developed on ...

Microbial mediation and climatic control on dolomite precipitation in a hypersaline lake: Insights from Salinas Lake, southern Iberia

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 12, Issue 1, February 2026.
The cyclical nature of aridity and humidity led to the alternating deposition of dolomite‐rich and calcite‐rich sediments. During arid phases, the lake hydrology and growth of microbial mats under evaporative and hypersaline environment favors the precipitation of dolomite.

Effect of Water Activity on Reaction Kinetics and Intergranular Transport: Insights from the Ca(OH) 2 + MgCO 3 → CaCO 3 + Mg(OH) 2 Reaction at 1·8 GPa [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The kinetics of the irreversible reaction Ca(OH)2 + MgCO3 → CaCO3 + Mg(OH)2 were investigated at high pressures and temperatures relevant to metamorphic petrology, using both in situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction and post-mortem analysis of reaction rim ...

Strength α‐Quartz: New Results From High Pressure In Situ X‐Ray Diffraction Experiments

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract We present a suite of 13 uniaxial deformation experiments on fine grained polycrystalline α‐quartz conducted in a D‐DIA apparatus monitored with in situ synchrotron x‐rays. Experimental temperatures range from 25°C to 1199°C with pressures between 1.4 and 3.2 GPa, and strain rates between 3.4 × 10−6 s−1 and 1.8 × 10−5 s−1.

Thixotropic and Mechanical Behavior of MgO–SiO2 Pastes Incorporating Rice Husk Ash for Extrusion‐Based 3D Printing

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 109, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Rice husk ash (RHA) is an agricultural by‐product that can replace microsilica (MS) as a suitable silica source in MgO–SiO2 cement mixes, offering low‐carbon benefits. This study investigated the 3D printing properties, including thixotropy and hardened mechanical properties, of the MgO–SiO2 system formed by partial and total replacement of MS

The model approach of the marketing strategy creation [PDF]

open access: yesActa Montanistica Slovaca, 2005
The reserve base is 3400 million tonnes of magnesium content. Identified world resources of magnesite total some 12 billion tonnes, and there are also large resources of magnesium-bearing substitutes such as dolomite, brucite and olivine.
