Calcium-alloyed magnesium alloys [PDF]
Mg - Al - Ca alloys positioned in the Mg - Al 2 Ca quasi-binary section are studied. It is shown that alloys of this system bearing the Al 2 Ca compound as a hardening phase can be used for developing structural alloys with elevated strength at 170°C and that the strength characteristics of the Mg - Al - Ca alloys can be improved by adding manganese.

Magnesium and magnesium alloy hydrides
International Journal of Hydrogen Energy, 1986Abstract This review addresses the question of using magnesium and magnesium-based alloys as “rechargeable hydrogen storage” media. The effect of addition of organic compounds as well as other metals (both transition and non-transition elements) on the sorption characteristics of magnesium is considered in detail. The current status of information in

Magnesium and Magnesium Alloys
2018Whereas the fundamental properties of all metallic elements are covered systematically and comprehensively in Chap. 4, this chapter treats magnesium which is applied as both a base and an alloying element of metallic materials (Sects. 5.1, 5.2). According to common usage, the chapter is subdivided into treatments of metallic materials, such as melting ...
