Adsorption of FFA, Soap and Glycerine in Biodiesel Using Magnesium Silicate
The effect of SiO2/MgO molar ratios of magnesium silicate on adsorption of free fatty acid (FFA), soap and glycerine in biodiesel was studied. The magnesium silicate adsorbent was prepared by the precipitation of magnesium sulfate and sodium metasilicate.

Synthesis of magnesium silicate from wheat husk ash: Effects of parameters on structural and surface properties [PDF]
In the present study, magnesium silicate was produced by using wheat husk ash. Wheat husk was burned at 600 °C to obtain an amorphous ash structure, and the ash was processed with sodium hydroxide solution with heat to extract silica.

Quercetin is a bioflavonoid which has a broad spectrum of biological activity. Due to its lower chemical stability, it is usually encapsulated, or a metal–quercetin complex is formed to enhance its biological activity at a lower concentration.

Computer simulations of iron in magnesium silicate perovskite [PDF]
We use atomistic computer simulation techniques to investigate the site partitioning of iron in (Mg,Fe)SiO_{3} perovskites. Our calculations predict that the most energetically favourable reaction for iron substitution will be a direct exchange of Fe^{2+}

Dust absorption and scattering in the silicon K-edge [PDF]
The composition and properties of interstellar silicate dust are not well understood. In X-rays, interstellar dust can be studied in detail by making use of the fine structure features in the Si K-edge.

Tribocorrosion Properties of PEO Coatings Produced on AZ91 Magnesium Alloy with Silicate- or Phosphate-Based Electrolytes [PDF]
In this work, the tribocorrosion behavior of plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO)-coated AZ91 samples was studied. In particular, two different coatings were produced and compared. One was obtained with an alkaline electrolyte containing sodium phosphate,

Structure, bonding and morphology of hydrothermally synthesised xonotlite [PDF]
The authors have systematically investigated the role of synthesis conditions upon the structure and morphology of xonotlite. Starting with a mechanochemically prepared, semicrystalline phase with Ca/Si=1, the authors have prepared a series of xonotlite ...
