Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation, 2021
Since magnetic Barkhausen noise is very sensitive to the change of the stress or residual stress level in components, it is feasible to detect the stress or residual stress profile along the depth direction by the magnetic Barkhausen noise method.

Evaluation of the wear mechanism of ferromagnetic materials based on magnetic barkhausen noise
Nondestructive Testing and EvaluationAs a typical form of damage, wear greatly affects the service properties of products, and non-destructive evaluation of the degree of wear is urgently needed.

Barkhausen Noise and Size Effects in Magnetic Microstructures
Journal of Applied Physics, 2001The properties of the Barkhausen noise in a series of permalloy squares have been measured with a magneto-optical hysteresigraph. The magnetic structures have been litographically defined in a permalloy film (thickness 160 nm) as squares having a size from 20 to 320 μm.

IEEE Sensors Journal
Based on the hypothesis that each magnetic domain is considered as a magnetic Barkhausen noise (MBN) emission “source,” a layered model describing the generation mechanism and propagation attenuation of the “source” signal is built.

Effect of Noise on Accuracy of Grain Size Evaluation by Magnetic Barkhausen Noise Analysis
International Journal of Automation TechnologyMagnetic Barkhausen noise (MBN) is a magnetic signal caused by domain wall motion and is used for non-destructive testing and evaluation of ferromagnetic materials because of its sensitivity to both mechanical and magnetic properties.

Simulation of the magnetic Barkhausen noise
2020Non-destructive magnetic controls are increasing in the industrial field 1. In this domain, the expectation for simulation tools able to anticipate the magnetic signature, improve the understanding and avoid fastidious and uncertain experimental pre-characterizations is high.

Magnetic Barkhausen Noise Testing for Subsurface Discontinuities under DC Magnetization
Materials Evaluation, 2020Subsurface discontinuities are inevitably formed during the long-term operations of pipelines, oil tanks, ship hulls, and the like. However, it is still a big challenge to detect deeply buried subsurface discontinuities using existing nondestructive testing methods.

MAGNETIC BARKHAUSEN NOISE INDICATORS OF CRACKS IN STEEL
Nondestructive Testing and Evaluation, 1997High resolution magnetic Barkhausen noise (MBN) measurements were performed on cracks that were present in a section of 390 mm diameter and 29 mm thick steel pipe. The MBN indicators considered were the MBN energy signal, the number of events, and the variation of pulse height distributions (PHD) in the crack vicinity.
