A photochromic cobalt-bis(dioxolene)spirooxazine metal complex has been synthesized which exhibits both photochromic and redox-active behavior, providing a potentially powerful approach to the development of optically induced changes in redox, magnetic, or optical properties of a metal center.

Evaluation of use of magnetically bistable microwires for magnetic labels
physica status solidi (a), 2010AbstractThe dynamics of the magnetization reversal by means of head‐to‐head domain‐wall propagation is investigated both experimentally and theoretically for magnetic labels made from Fe‐rich bistable glass‐coated microwires. It is shown that the amplitudes of the electromagnetic harmonics generated by bistable Fe‐rich magnetic labels of the length 1–4

Magnetic bistable micro-actuator with integrated permanent magnets
Proceedings of IEEE Sensors, 2004., 2006A new magnetic micro-actuator with integrated permanent magnets has been developed. The design of this device, with a levitating mobile magnet, is a real innovation and is patented. The structure was modeled using analytical and numerical calculations.

Bistability properties of magnetic micro-nanowires
SPIE Proceedings, 2016A mathematical model that describes the process of the reversal magnetization of an amorphous microwire with the help of a large Barkhausen jump is proposed. The model has been estimated with regard to the optimization of the signal-tonoise ratio. Using nonlinear model, we studied the physical factors that cause the fluctuations of the start field ...

Stochastic resonance in bistable magnetic wires
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2003Abstract In bistable magnetic wires, the switching field H ∗ is an applied magnetic field sufficient to remagnetise a wire. The spectrum of the fluctuations of H ∗ depends on temperature. We demonstrate that this effect leads to a maximum of the thermal dependence of the amplitude of the wire magnetisation.

Stochastic resonance in a bistable magnetic system
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1995Theoretical model of magnetostochastic resonance is developed. It is shown that in the presence of noise the signal-to-noise ratio for a bistable uniaxial ferromagnetic can be a million times greater than that for a one-stable ferromagnetic. The phenomenon can be used for magnetic field measurements, detection of macroscopic quantum tunneling of ...

Crystal optical bistability in a magnetic field
SPIE Proceedings, 1999The influence of an external magnetic field on optical features of semiconductor exciton spectra is researched in this work. It is shown that the magnetic field brings about the shift of the exciton level in the high-energy spectrum area. This causes the arising of a unique effect-- brightening-- of the crystal on the fixed external excitement ...

Magnetic Bistability In As-cast Non-magnetostrictive Amorphous Wire
[1993] Digests of International Magnetics Conference, 1993Nearly zero-magnetostrictive amorphous wires do not present in the as-cast state the striking bistable magnetization process typical of high-magnetostrictive wires. Such a difference can be interpreted as a consequence of the low strength in the intrinsic magnetoelastic anisotropy.
