Preliminary Design of Bilio-digestive Anastomosis by Magnetic Compression

open access: yesProceedings of the International Conference on Biomedical Electronics and Devices, 2014
International audienceSome experiments have been realized to determine the characteristics of magnets allowing for bilio-digestive anastomosis by magnetic compression using a ferromagnetic gel and a magnet.

The development and application of magnetic surgery in clinical treatment [PDF]

open access: yesBioMedical Engineering OnLine
In the twenty-first century, increasing studies suggest that magnetic devices are employed for technical innovation and solving clinical bottleneck problems. Magnetic surgery technology uses specially designed magnetic medical instruments or equipment to

Endoscopic Gastrojejunostomy for Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome Using Magnetic Compression Anastomosis. [PDF]

open access: yesGastroenterology Res, 2019
An 89-year-old woman who was bedridden suffered repeated vomiting due to superior mesenteric artery syndrome (SMAS). We performed gastrojejunostomy via the magnetic compression anastomosis (MCA) technique because her situation was not improved by conservative therapy and because the operative risk was high.

Uterine artery embolization for fibroid-induced hydronephrosis in a renal transplant recipient [PDF]

open access: yesSAGE Open Medical Case Reports
Obstructive uropathy from uterine fibroids is recognized in the general population but is rare in renal transplant recipients. We report the first case, to our knowledge, of uterine artery embolization successfully treating fibroid-induced hydronephrosis

Transpapillary removal of migrated magnets after magnetic compression biliary anastomosis [PDF]

open access: yesEndoscopy, 2021
A 59-year-oldman underwent orthotopic liver transplantation; liver re-transplantation was needed 24 hours later owing to primary liver failure. A large incisional hernia was repaired 5 years later. Increases in his liver function tests were noted 6 years later and magnetic resonance cholangiography showed an anastomotic biliary stricture.
