Designing Vanadium‐Based Oxide Electrocatalysts for Water Splitting: Experimental and Mechanistic Insights with Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review establishes structure‐property‐mechanism relationships across six modification strategies for V‐based oxide water‐splitting electrocatalysts: lattice engineering, heteroatom doping, interface engineering, carbon‐based hybridization, morphology engineering, and surface reconstruction and pre‐catalyst design, where dissolution is reframed as ...

Rapid Microwave Plasma Engineering of HfO2/C@C Core‐Shell Fibrous Membrane Toward Flexible High‐Performance Electromagnetic Wave Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Rapid microwave plasma torch engineering tunes crystal phases, carbon graphitization and oxygen‐vacancy defects in HfO2/C@C core‐shell fibrous membranes. Synergistic multi‐loss effects optimize impedance matching to deliver −65.75 dB reflection loss and a 7.37 GHz effective bandwidth for flexible electromagnetic wave absorption.

Magnetic Domains

2023
Abstract This chapter reviews the basic concepts and fundamentals of magnetic domains but not in great detail as the majority of domain theory does not apply to particulate and granular materials. However the key anisotropies, magnetocrystalline and shape, are described in detail and the basis of the formation of domains and the ...

Magnetic domains in a uniaxial magnet Dy3Al2

Applied Physics Letters, 2021
The rare-earth intermetallic Dy3Al2 is a low-temperature permanent magnet with temperature-induced spin reorientation transition. In this work, we report the observation of magnetic domains in lamellae of Dy3Al2 using Liquid-Nitrogen cryo-Lorentz transmission electronic microscopy (cryo-LTEM) above TSR (70 K).

Magnetic Stripe Domains in Coupled Magnetic Sandwiches

Physical Review Letters, 2004
Magnetic stripe domains in the spin reorientation transition region are investigated in (Fe/Ni)/Cu(001) and Co/Cu/(Fe/Ni)/Cu(001) using photoemission electron microscopy. For (Fe/Ni)/Cu(001), the stripe domain width decreases exponentially as the Fe/Ni film approaches the spin reorientation transition point.

Jahn–Teller domains and magnetic domains in Mn2FeO4

Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials, 2000
Elastic (Jahn–Teller) domains and magnetic domains in the tetragonal spinel Mn2FeO4 were studied using X-ray double-crystal topography, X-ray diffractometry and the colloid-SEM method. The Jahn–Teller domains of the measured samples are tetragonal with the [0 0 1] c-axis alternating perpendicularly (thick domains) and parallel (thin domains) with ...

Magnetic Domain-Wall Logic

Science, 2005
“Spintronics,” in which both the spin and charge of electrons are used for logic and memory operations, promises an alternate route to traditional semiconductor electronics. A complete logic architecture can be constructed, which uses planar magnetic wires that are less than a micrometer in width.

Energetics of interacting magnetized domains

Physical Review E, 2001
Many of the pattern forming features of ferrofluids, lipid monolayers, type-I superconductors, and magnetic bubbles can be understood by treating them as dipolar (uniformly magnetized or polarized) domains. Here, we investigate the early stages of pattern formation in a system consisting of two quasi-two-dimensional dipolar domains.

Magnetic domains of a sintered SmCo5 magnet

Applied Physics Letters, 1973
Magnetic domains of a press-sintered SmCo5 magnet with a high intrinsic coercivity (IHc = 12 700 Oe) and energy product [(BH)max = 18.0 MGOe] were observed in the demagnetized state by the powder pattern technique. The domains on the surfaces parallel and perpendicular to the alignment direction and at grain boundaries are shown in detail.

Observation of magnetic domain in magnetic disk

Proceedings, annual meeting, Electron Microscopy Society of America, 1990
A technological key to successful development of high-density magnetic disk lies in how to prevent mutual interference between adjacent bits i.e. how to provide narrower and simpler configulation of magnetic domain. Development of observation technique of finer magnetic domain, therefore, has been strongly required.
