Mapping the Magnetic Field of Flare Coronal Loops

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 2019
Abstract Here, we report on the unique observation of flaring coronal loops at the solar limb using high-resolution imaging spectropolarimetry from the Swedish 1 m Solar Telescope. The vantage position, orientation, and nature of the chromospheric material that filled the flare loops allowed us to determine their magnetic field with ...

Admixture Mapping Reveals Candidate Regions for Methotrexate Neurotoxicity Susceptibility: A Reducing Disparities in Acute Leukemia Consortium Report

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Neurotoxicity is a rare, often dose‐limiting adverse effect of methotrexate (MTX) therapy that disproportionally affects Latino children. Factors contributing to the observed disparity are not well understood. This study leveraged admixture mapping to identify genetic regions associated with MTX‐related neurotoxicity susceptibility ...

The Gridded Geomagnetic Field of India with MATLAB GUI

open access: yesData Science Journal
A unique two-dimensional gridded geomagnetic map of India is constructed using the geomagnetic field observations from 11 observatories of India, operated by the Indian Institute of Geomagnetism. In order to create the spatial grid, 11 spatial techniques

Relativistic Particle Beams as a Resource to Solve Outstanding Problems in Space Physics

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2019
The Sun's connection with the Earth's magnetic field and atmosphere is carried out through the exchange of electromagnetic and mass flux and is regulated by a complex interconnection of processes.

Mapping the magnetic field vector in a fountain clock

open access: yesReview of Scientific Instruments, 2011
We show how the mapping of the magnetic field vector components can be achieved in a fountain clock by measuring the Larmor transition frequency in atoms that are used as a spatial probe. We control two vector components of the magnetic field and apply audio frequency magnetic pulses to localize and measure the field vector through Zeeman spectroscopy.

Ovarian Sex Cord Stromal Tumors in Children and Adolescents—The European Standard Clinical Practice Recommendations

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As part of the European Cooperative Study Group for Paediatric Rare Tumours initiative, we developed standard clinical practice guidelines for ovarian sex cord stromal tumors, based on comprehensive national and international cohort analyses, literature review, and a final expert consensus conference.

Hall probe calibration in high-precision magnetic field mapping system of superconducting cyclotron

open access: yesNukleonika
Superconducting cyclotron can generate high-energy proton beams and are mainly used for radiation therapy of tumors and cancers. In the superconducting cyclotron SC200, the maximum magnetic induction intensity can typically reach up to 4.6 T, and the ...

Mapping the magnetic field of Plaskett's star

open access: yes, 2021
Plaskett's star is a spectroscopic binary, with two O star components in the spectrum, one of which has a strong magnetic field. This system represents one of the very few hot, massive, multiple star systems where a magnetic field is present. The narrow-line spectroscopic component shows a clear short orbital period of 14.396 days, while the motion of ...

Modulation of Homer1 EVH1 domain internal dynamics by putative autism‐associated mutations

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The putative autism‐associated M65I and S97L variants of the EVH1 domain of the postsynaptic scaffold protein Homer1 do not exhibit substantial changes in their overall structure or partner binding. Both of them, but especially the M65I variant, show altered internal dynamics relative to the wild‐type domain on the μs‐ms timescale, indicated by the ...
