Magnetic Field Sensing using Magnetic Fluids.

Birefringence occurs when light passes through a magnetic fluid in a magnetic field. The phase difference caused by this phenomenon increases as the magnetic field is intensified. We have proposed an optical heterodyne method using Stabilized Transverse Zeeman Laser(STZL) for the detection of this phase difference caused by a magnetic field.

Sensing electric and magnetic fields with Bose-Einstein condensates [PDF]
