Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Magnetic Fluid Seal System For Control Of Pump Fugitive Emissions

open access: yes, 1993
Lecturepg. 3Pump fugitive emissions can now be controlled to near zero levels by the use of a simplified dual seal system. A magnetic fluid secondary seal traps any vapors that leak past the primary mechanical seal.

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Motion State Analysis and Seal Ability Study on the Magnetic Fluid Seal of Reciprocating Shaft

open access: yes, 2002
The authors have studied the motion mechanism of the magnetic fluid in a reciprocating seal gap, on the basis of which the authors obtain an anti-pressure formula of the reciprocating shaft magnetic fluid seal from general Navier-Stokes equation.

Interface stability of magnetic fluid seal for sealing liquid

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2021
Abstract Theoretically, the velocity distributions of the sealed liquid and magnetic fluid are studied. The velocity of the sealed liquid and magnetic fluid decreases nonlinearly with the increase of the radius. The instability of the interface between magnetic fluid and the sealed liquid is studied.
